My MUSE | Suzanne & Franky March
Hi everyone, Michele here introducing a very special Mother’s Day edition of My MUSE featuring the effortlessly stylish mother-daughter duo, Suzanne and Franky March.
We spent the morning with Suzanne and Franky at Suzanne’s beautiful home and, from the moment we arrived, there was an unmistakable warmth between them that made the entire shoot feel relaxed and genuine.
As the morning unfolded, what became clear was not only the closeness of their relationship, but the deep admiration they have for one another. Suzanne is elegant, expressive and quietly assured, while Franky shares that same sense of elegance, paired with a natural confidence and warmth that draws people in. Together, they share a love of beautiful things, thoughtful dressing, and personal style that feels instinctive rather than trend driven.
Fashion has clearly become part of the language they share. Franky speaks so fondly of her mother’s approach to dressing, her love of colour, pattern and expressive pieces that reflect personality rather than convention, while Suzanne recalls Franky’s strong sense of self from an early age.
For this Mother’s Day feature, I sat down with Suzanne and Franky to talk about personal style, motherhood, shopping at MUSE over the years, and the special bond they share.

I was actually having this exact conversation with Mum recently. I’ve always loved that she chooses colour and isn’t afraid of pattern. Equally, she can wear really beautiful classics and neutrals. But my favourite looks of hers are always the outfits that reflect her sunny personality and the fact she doesn’t follow a rule book, which is very her.
With the status quo at the moment being quiet luxury and very safe minimalist dressing with neutral palettes, it’s refreshing to see someone embrace more expressive outfits. MUSE has always been the perfect store for that.
Francesca always had her own sense of style and was very determined to wear whatever felt comfortable for her tomboy nature - she was also not happy wearing shoes. I think her real interest in fashion started after I began taking her to stores like Monkeys and KAF from 7 to 8 years old, and it slowly evolved from there.
A favourite memory was her designing and having her leaving dinner dress made when she transitioned from Junior School into Year 7, alongside her best friend Jaime, who was actually the maid of honour at her wedding earlier this year. A full circle moment.
I have been out of the market for a while, but I hope Franky’s children will one day grow up with beautiful stores like these too, from local and international designers that allow kids to be creative and expressive, rather than disposable.

Franky:Mum has really ingrained a few things in me that have shaped who I am today. One of them is ‘a problem shared is a problem halved,’ which has always made me feel like I have a shoulder to lean on and someone to help me through any situation. She’s never made me feel like I have to carry the weight of the world on my own, and that makes hard times feel so much lighter. That’s been such a major reason why we are so close.
The other thing she’s taught me – and something I hope I can pass on to my own children one day – is that nothing in life is out of reach. You can do or be anything you want with hard work and backing yourself. I truly believed her, and I think that it is so healthy for children to back themselves from a young age. It is probably why I did some quite ‘out there’ things when I was younger that I may otherwise have been too scared to do.
Suzanne: Francesca has inspired me in so many ways over the years. I’ve always admired her determination and confidence, particularly through her sporting achievements, which have been incredible to watch as a mother. We also share a huge love for animals and travelling.
We tend to be drawn to the same places when we travel too, especially historic towns and areas with lots of character and stories behind them. I think we both appreciate beauty in a very similar way, whether that’s in fashion, interiors, travel or everyday life.

It’s a special day, but mum has made a song or dance about celebrating it - she’s the same with birthdays! We always book a lunch or dinner with our extended family to celebrate all of the mothers, which is nice. This year, we are going out to dinner at Soul bar, which is a little bit of a tradition.

We’re the same stature and have the same shoe size, which is honestly the best thing in the world, well, for me anyway (Franky). I’m always encouraging Mum to pop into MUSE so I can borrow whatever she buys, particularly blouses and beautiful cashmere pieces.
We also tend to suit the same colours. I’m probably a little more corporate and naturally gravitate towards structured pieces, whereas she often inspires me to choose things that are a bit softer or prettier. Life’s too short.

The below says it all!
Franky: A pair of Khatie jeans, a few simple everyday cashmere pieces from Soft Goat, and a suede jacket for winter. The Chloe jewellery is also gorgeous, I love the Iconic Necklace in Vintage Gold.
Suzanne: Currently on this list are Khatie jeans, moccasins, a suede jacket, plus some gorgeous Soft Goat wool jumpers
